Who it's for
Trauma therapy
Adults whose childhood still shapes their sleep, their relationships or their sense of safety, and who want company in sorting it out.
Sessions are 50 minutes, one to one. We start with what's hard now and what has helped, and move toward the past only if and when you want to. I'll often offer a way to settle your body before we end.

The details
What to know before you start
The method
Phase-based trauma therapy: first steadiness and trust, then, if you choose, work on memories, then rebuilding. I was trained in this approach through my graduate program and continuing education.
What this is not
It isn't a place where you're expected to relive things, and it isn't advice about whether to stay in touch with anyone. It's also not a crisis service.
Length and pace
A session is 50 minutes. Most people begin weekly. I don't set a number of sessions; you and I check in on pace as we go.
How it is paid
Insurance, or paying yourself with your fee in writing first. Reduced-fee spots are limited.

Three questions about trauma therapy
Will I have to describe what happened?
No. We can work on how it affects you now without going into the past, and some people never do.
What if I feel worse after a session?
That can happen, and it's one reason we go slowly. We plan the end of each session, and you can write or call between sessions if you need to adjust the pace.
Can I stop whenever I want?
Yes. You can pause, change how we work, or end therapy at any time, and you don't need to explain.
Ready to talk about starting?
Write to me. You can say as little as you like.
