Who it's for
Somatic therapy
Adults who notice that trauma lives in the body, as a tight chest, a startle or a numb patch, and want ways to settle it.
We talk, and from time to time I invite you to notice your breath, your feet on the floor, or where a feeling sits in your body. Everything is seated and optional. There is no touch, and you can say no to any invitation.

The details
What to know before you start
The method
Body-aware therapy: tracking sensation, grounding and slow pacing, drawn from several somatic approaches. I'll name the specific training behind each exercise when I use it.
What this is not
It isn't massage, bodywork or physical exercise, and it isn't a replacement for medical care. If something in your body worries you, see a physician.
Length and pace
A session is 50 minutes. Somatic work usually sits inside the talking, so there's no separate course of sessions.
Three questions about somatic therapy
Do I have to close my eyes?
No. You can keep them open, or look at a spot in the room. Closing them is never required.
Will you touch me?
No. There is no touch in sessions.
Can I do this by video?
Yes, if you are in Montana during the session. We adjust the exercises to what you can do in your own room.
Want to try it?
Write to me. We can start with a conversation, and the body-aware part only when you want it.
