Who it's for
EMDR therapy
Adults who want to work on specific memories without having to tell them in detail, and who are ready to spend time on steadiness first.
In EMDR you hold a memory in mind while following my hand or a light with your eyes, or feeling alternating taps, in short sets. Between sets you say a few words about what you noticed, or just nod. Before any of this we spend time on steadiness and a calm place.

The details
What to know before you start
The method
EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) in its eight phases. I trained in it through an EMDR International Association-approved program.
What this is not
It isn't hypnosis, and you stay awake and in control of it. It doesn't erase memories, and I can't say how it will go for you.
Length and pace
A session is 50 minutes, sometimes longer for a processing session if we agree. Some people begin after a few sessions of preparation, some take much longer, and some choose not to.
How it is paid
The same as any session. If you pay yourself, your fee for a longer session is in writing first.
How fees work
Three questions about EMDR therapy
Do I have to tell you the memory?
No. You think of it, and you decide how much to say. Many people say very little.
What does it feel like?
It varies. Some people notice feelings, images or body sensations shifting, and some notice little. We stop and settle whenever you want.
Is it right for everyone?
No. We decide together after the preparation sessions, and I'll explain what I know about it and what I don't.
Curious about EMDR?
Write to me, and we'll talk about whether it fits and when, not just how.
